Andy Evans
Founder/CEO at Offshore Wind Australia
Andy Evans is a co-founder and was the inaugural CEO for 7 years of the Star of the South Project, Australia’s first proposed offshore wind farm project which is being developed off the south coast of Gippsland, Victoria. He remains as one of the main shareholders in the Star of the South which, at 2.2GW, will be one of the world’s largest offshore wind farms. Andy stepped out of the operations of Star of the South in late 2019 to establish Offshore Wind Australia, an industry network to help accelerate the offshore wind industry in Australia. He is also pursuing further new offshore wind developments through his company, Quan Energy.
He is also involved in the development of other projects utilising renewable energy including development of solar projects to help the transition of the logistics industry to electric trucks.
After starting his career as a lawyer working in Australia and the United Kingdom, Andy has been heavily involved in the energy and resources industry for nearly 20 years, the majority of that in renewable energy with other side interests including a winemaking business. He is passionate about creating innovative projects of size, longevity and economic and social benefit in the Asia Pacific region.
