After over 15 years in banking and 5 years of managing an offshore wind development company, Michael co-founded Amscap together with Jan-Peter.

While at Amscap, Michael acted as project director for Merkur Offshore and was responsible for structuring and financing this EUR 1.8 billion project. Michael also put together the equity consortium and negotiated the equity documentation for Admiraal de Ruyter Windpark and Windpark Monarch, the two 700 MW offshore wind projects that participated in the Borssele offshore wind tenders in the Netherlands.

Before founding Amsterdam Capital Partners, Michael was the Managing Director at Typhoon Offshore, where he was responsible for the successful structuring and arranging of the EUR 2.8 billion Gemini financing package. This included forming an equity consortium, placing the senior debt and raising over EUR 2 billion of project debt finance.Michael holds a degree in Monetary Economics from the University of Groningen, and speaks several European languages.
